Audi has launched the new RS5, marking its debut as a plug-in hybrid. While it retains the familiar 2.9-liter turbocharged V6 engine, it is now combined with a 130kW electric motor, producing a total of 630bhp—a significant increase over the previous model's 450bhp.

The car features a 22kWh battery enabling over 80 km of electric-only range and supports fast charging up to 22kW for a full charge in about 2.5 hours. It comes with Audi's quattro all-wheel-drive and a new Dynamic Torque Control system for enhanced handling.

Available in both saloon and Avant body styles, the RS5 sports a classic sporty design with signature oval exhausts. The interior includes bucket seats, steering wheel mode buttons, and physical controls replacing previous haptic ones. Gear paddles can also adjust regenerative braking in electric mode.

Pricing starts at €106,000 for the saloon and €107,850 for the Avant in Germany, with UK prices yet to be confirmed.
