A Nod to Jeep History
Jeep has officially unveiled the ninth entry in its exclusive 'Twelve 4 Twelve' campaign: the 2027 Wrangler Laredo. This release honors the brand’s heritage by reviving the luxury-oriented appearance package that first gained fame in the 1980s during the final chapter of the CJ series, later transitioning to the YJ-generation Wrangler. The production version remains true to the concept vehicle that debuted at this year’s Easter Jeep Safari.
Southwestern Aesthetics
The 2027 Laredo draws heavy inspiration from the American Southwest, trading standard black plastic trim for warm earth tones and metallic elements.
- Exterior Details: The model features a Gobi-toned grille, bronze-finished tow hooks, and unique Trail Rated badging with bronze accents. Vintage-inspired stripes and typography adorn the hood and body, while the rear gate showcases a distinctive lasso-themed 4WD decal.
- Top Options: This release marks the return of the sought-after tan soft top. Customers can also opt for a body-color hardtop or the premium Sky One-touch power roof on four-door models.
- Off-Road Stance: Each Laredo is factory-equipped with the Xtreme 35 Tire Package, featuring bronze beadlock-capable wheels and 35-inch BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrain tires, bolstered by a one-inch suspension lift.
Western-Inspired Interior
The cabin embraces a 'Bison Brown' theme. The interior features heated, power-adjustable front seats wrapped in genuine Nappa leather with Mayan Gold contrast stitching. Global Black materials provide a sharp contrast on the dash and door armrests. Other interior highlights include a special center console badge, a plaque on the rear swing gate displaying the coordinates of Laredo, Texas, and climate icons featuring subtle cowboy hat graphics.
Under the Hood and Pricing
Mechanically, the Laredo is built upon the Wrangler Willys platform. It retains robust off-road features, including Dana 44 heavy-duty axles and a towing capacity of 4,500 pounds when properly equipped. The package is available for both two-door and four-door variants.
Rather than standing as its own trim level, the Laredo is offered as an equipment group. It commands a $1,995 premium over the base price of a Wrangler Willys with the Xtreme 35 package. Order books are set to open later this month at North American dealerships, with initial deliveries expected by the end of the summer.
