Tesla Superchargers are the most reliable public EV chargers according to a new survey of electric vehicle owners. The brand's charging network is widely recognized for its consistency and seamless user experience.
The survey, conducted by Escalent, asked 209 EV drivers about their expectations and actual experiences with charger reliability. All major charging providers scored higher in experienced reliability than in expected reliability, indicating that chargers are more dependable than consumers perceive.
While Tesla leads the rankings, overall satisfaction with public charger reliability is high. 45% of respondents rated their satisfaction at the highest level. Industry observers note that public charging infrastructure has improved dramatically in recent years, with newer, more reliable stations replacing older ones.
The gap between perception and reality suggests that public sentiment on charging reliability lags behind the rapid on-the-ground improvements in infrastructure. For regular users, the reliability of major networks has reached a point where charging anxiety is significantly reduced.
