Evolution of the Luxury Electric Van

Since its market debut in 2022, the Zeekr 009 has established itself as a cornerstone of the brand's lineup. Following initial reports from China’s Ministry of Industry homologation database earlier this year, the manufacturer has now fully unveiled the refreshed version of this luxury electric MPV.

Refined Exterior and Technological Advancements

While the overall silhouette of the 009 remains consistent with its predecessor, the exterior has received subtle aesthetic tweaks. The signature front grille now features increased chrome detailing, complemented by revised fog light housings. However, the most significant changes reside beneath the surface:

  • Enhanced Autonomous Capabilities: The lighting system now incorporates indicators specifically for autonomous driving modes.
  • Advanced Processing: Zeekr has integrated a new lidar unit paired with the Nvidia Drive Thor U processor, boasting an impressive 700 TOPS of computing power.

The vehicle maintains its substantial footprint, measuring approximately 205.4 inches in length and sitting on a generous 126.2-inch wheelbase.

Premium Interior Experience

The cabin continues to prioritize passenger luxury, offering configurations for six or seven occupants. New “zero gravity” seats have been introduced, featuring integrated massage, ventilation, and leg-rest functionality. For entertainment, passengers can utilize a 17-inch ceiling-mounted OLED display and a high-fidelity Naim audio system. Zeekr has also indicated plans to introduce an ultra-luxurious four-seat flagship variant in the near future.

Performance and Powertrain Upgrades

The most notable technical evolution is the transition to a 900-volt electrical architecture in higher-tier models, while the entry-level configuration retains an 800-volt system. The performance figures are equally impressive:

«The all-wheel-drive variant delivers a staggering 925 horsepower and 673 lb-ft of torque, supported by a 115 kWh battery that offers a range of up to 447 miles.»

The front-wheel-drive base model produces 422 horsepower and utilizes a 108 kWh battery, providing a range of approximately 460 miles. To ensure a refined ride, the performance-oriented AWD version is equipped with air suspension and adaptive CCD dampers.

Market Availability

The updated Zeekr 009 is now available in China with a competitive entry price of approximately $64,500, rising to roughly $69,000 for the top-spec all-wheel-drive model. This aggressive pricing strategy positions the vehicle as a formidable contender within the global premium electric minivan segment.
