Hyundai has introduced the new Ioniq 3, a compact electric hatchback specifically developed for the European market. It targets buyers seeking modern EV technology without the bulk of a larger crossover. Dubbed an "Aero Hatch," the car emphasizes aerodynamic efficiency and everyday practicality in a tailored package.
The Ioniq 3 features a distinctive long, low profile designed to reduce drag, with a drag coefficient target of 0.263. Its "Art of Steel" design includes clean surfaces and pixel-themed lighting. Despite its sleek shape, the interior follows a "Furnished Space" concept, aiming for a warm, usable cabin with generous room for passengers and cargo, including a 15.6 cubic foot trunk capacity.
Technology focuses on usability, featuring the new Pleos Connect infotainment system and available premium features like a BOSE sound system and heated seats. Safety systems include Highway Driving Assist 2 and Remote Smart Parking Assist.
Built on a 400-volt E-GMP platform, the Ioniq 3 offers two battery options (42.2 kWh and 61 kWh) with WLTP ranges up to 214 and 308 miles respectively. It supports fast charging and will be produced in Turkey for European customers, highlighting its focus on practical, efficient daily electric driving.
