Owners of current-generation Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Buick Enclave crossovers are reporting all-wheel drive system failures, often signaled by "Service All Wheel Drive" or "Service 4WD" messages upon startup. In a March 2026 service bulletin, General Motors acknowledged the issue, stating its engineering team is investigating but lacks a permanent solution.

The bulletin instructs dealers not to replace the rear drive control module, but instead to perform a reset process to clear the fault and restore AWD functionality temporarily. This reset takes less than 30 minutes. GM cautions the fault may reappear. Affected models include the 2024-2026 Chevy Traverse, 2024-2026 GMC Acadia, and 2025-2026 Buick Enclave.

In related news, a separate April 2026 bulletin addresses potential coolant leaks from the radiator hose connector in the same model years. GM offers special coverage for this issue for up to five years or 60,000 miles, repairing or reimbursing owners for affected parts.

GM has not provided a timeline for a permanent software fix for the AWD issue. Owners experiencing the coolant leak are advised to contact their dealer in advance to ensure part availability.
